Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has visited wounded victims of the shooting at Lekki Toll. The Governor of Lagos State commiserated with the victims and assured them of a thorough investigation to the matter at hand.
It can be recalled that the government had declared a 24-hour curfew yesterday while ordering the closure of both public and private schools in Lagos State.
The #EndSars protesters defied the curfew. According to eye witness reports, their numbers were doubled at Alausa and at the Lekki Toll Gate, in Lagos.
At about 8PM, reports reached us that unknown men have opened fire on the protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate. Eye witness accounts have accused the Nigerian Military, however, the Nigerian Military have been swift to assert that no soldier was deployed to shoot protesters.
The governor through his spokesperson, Gbenga Omotoso, has assured Lagosians of a thorough investigation into the matter.
There has been an outpouring of reactions on social media; from celebrities, to international figures like former Vice President Clinton, amongst others.
