Lagos State Police Bans Protest in the State


The Lagos State Police Command, has warned Lagosians to desist from any form of protest or gathering.

The police confirmed that violence was mete on officers, men, formations and innocent Nigerians at different parts of the state.

Muyiwa Adejobi, Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command noted in a statement on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. The statement corroborates the 24 hours curfew imposed on Lagosians by the State government.

The PRO stated that, ‘The Lagos State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that henceforth, no protest or gathering or possession, under whatever guise, is permitted.’

He further confirmed that, adequate personnel to take charge and enforce the curfew across the state have been deployed.

The spokesman also disclosed that ‘some of our policemen were critically injured and unconfirmed reports state that one of them is dead.’

‘Its crystal clear that the End SARS protest has been hijacked by hoodlums who want to run down the state.’

The PRO further declared that, the Police Command will hold out against anarchy and combat unrest with all powers within the ambit of the law.
