Following the call for prosecution of soldiers involved in the shooting at the Lekki toll gate during the Lagos #EndSARS protests, members of the Yoruba socio cultural group and a foremost self-determination group under the umbrella of the Coalition of Oodua Self-determination Group (COSEG), have shown commitment and pledged their support in giving justice to the victims and bringing the offenders to book.
The ministers, in their relentless act, have called on the military high command to expose and prosecute any soldier found culpable of the October 20, mass killing.
Comrades Dayo Ogunlana and Dele Daramola the Chairman and Publicity Secretary of the group’s Coordinating Council, have made the stance of the Coalition of Oodua Self-Determination Groups (COSEG) in a statement released after an urgent meeting held in Lagos.
The press release also stated that only a ‘thorough and diligent’ prosecution can serve as a check to others in the future.
The Yoruba socio cultural group and a foremost self-determination group clarified that, the basis for backing the Ministers as regards probing soldiers involved in the Lekki shooting, was to restore sanity to the various locals and the state as a whole.
Also, COSEG urged the federal government to assist the state in the restoration of all destroyed facilities and properties.
The group, however, criticised the move of the northern governors for branding the #EndSARS protests as anti-North and describing it as an intentional drive for regime change.
