Following the nationwide protest against police brutality, which has now culminated into a lamentation of corrupt and inept system, the consequent demand for an end to it all under an adjoining hashtag, #FixNigeria, features a Nigerian music artiste, Rema, recount how he lost his biological brother due to bad healthcare system.

He made this known via his Twitter handle and was not shy to trace his brother’s death to poor infrastructural welfarism owing to unparalleled corruption in the country.

The Afro pop star, who recently performed at the FIFA 2020 premiere alongside a fellow Nigerian artiste, Fireboy, said a surgery was done on his brother with a candle light as a result of power outage. This led to an error in the surgical process as he was cut wrongly. Thus, he bled to death.

Citing poor infrastructural welfarism for an important sector like the healthcare system, Rema pointed, ‘the money to provide good healthcare system is in an old man’s foreign account and they keep borrowing using our pain as their format’.
