Simisola Ogunleye, popular Nigerian singer and wife to Adekunle Gold, has gone on a tirade on Twitter directed at the Nigerian government.

In a series of posts on Twitter made at the early hours of today she complained as to the billions that go into different sectors of the economy with little or no progress made. She cited sectors like health, education and electricity.

While making reference to the recently celebrated Nigerian Independence anniversary, she said, ‘we cannot be progressing backwards.’

She also talked about how Nigerians are so used to suffering owing to the callousness of our leaders as well as how bribery and corruption has eaten deep into every fabric of the Nigerian system.

In her own words, she said ‘Nigerians are so used to suffering now that they think it’s normal. If you don’t have money to “give someone” to get what you actually deserves, there’s almost no chance for progress. Bribe is not even bribe, it’s just survival’.

The tweets are intended to reinforce the campaign against police brutality which is why her final tweet read, ‘Loro kan, sha #EndSARS’.
