Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Asake has been nominated alongside Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar for the 2025 BRIT Awards. Asake continues to shine on the global stage as a result of his numerous chart busting songs despite the heavy usage of the Yoruba language in most of his lyrics.
The Award-winning Nigerian star, Asake has now been nominated for the 2025 Brit Awards. According to reports, he was nominated in the Best International Act category after enjoying a successful 2024 career growth due to the release of his third album ‘Lungu Boy’ which featured guest appearances from the A list of the Afrobeats genre, Wizkid, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmila.
Asake is the only Nigerian artist nominated in this year’s Brit Awards which also is second nomination after earning the nod in 2024.The serial chart-topper will face serious competition in the category with global stars Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Benson Boone, among others.
Jack Whitehall has been announced as the host for the award ceremony set to be held on 1 March 2025 at the iconic London’s O2 Arena. Asake’s real name is Ahmed Ololade Asake. He was born on January 13, 1995. He gained popularity in 2022 with the release of his debut album “Mr. Money with the Vibe”.
He is known for his unique blend of Afrobeats, Fuji, and Amapiano sounds with heavy usage of Yoruba diction. Asake has collaborated with other notable Nigerian artists, such as Olamide and Burna Boy.
