Tinubu Transmits Rivers 2025 Budget Proposal to National Assembly

The Journal Nigeria May 22, 2025

Raphael Johnson

President Bola Tinubu has asked the National Assembly to consider and approve the sum of N1.481 trillion as the 2025 budget for Rivers State.

Tinubu’s request was conveyed in a letter read by Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, during plenary on Thursday.

This comes amid the political crisis in Rivers State, which has affected normal legislative and budgetary processes.

President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in the state and appointed a sole administrator following a prolonged rift between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
