Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, has declared his victory is assured, calling his competitors weak and framing his bid as divinely favored.
Speaking at an annual prayer gathering organized by the An-sar-ud-deen Society in Ikire on Saturday 27th December , 2025, Oyebamiji, also known as AMBO, asserted his confidence in a decisive win. “I have said this several times: Bola Oyebamiji doesn’t have a competitor. I am going to win that governorship election come 2026,” he stated. “We believe strongly that it will be by the special grace of God.”
He launched a sharp critique of the current state administration, led by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing it of widespread failure. “Osun is backward in education, our primary healthcare system is down, nothing is happening in agriculture, infrastructure is poor, and many promises have failed,” Oyebamiji claimed, pledging to put the state “on the right track.”
His wife, Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji, echoed the call for change, emphasizing the need for a leader who governs “with conscience and sensitivity.” She noted the growing support for the event, with over 6,000 residents attending this year.
The candidate’s confidence was bolstered by religious endorsement. The Chief Imam of the Ikire branch, Badmus Adekunle, praised Oyebamiji’s candidacy, citing his leadership qualities, party loyalty, public service competence, and statewide goodwill as reasons for the APC’s nomination.
The 2026 race in Osun is heating up, with Oyebamiji positioning his campaign on a platform of divine backing and a stark critique of the incumbent government’s record.
