Bimbo Ademoye is a Nigerian actress and content creator whose distinctive acting style and talent of taking on complex characters and roles have helped her become the choice of many  in the entertainment industry. She has grown her fanbase with her outgoing nature and attractive appearance. Raised by a single father, Bimbo Ademoye grew up wanting to be an actress. In an interview with a  Nigerian Newspaper, the famous actress mentioned that most of the characters she plays are from imitating the people she grew up around, she goes from imitating how her brother speaks and how her aunty dresses. Before she became recognised in the industry, she used to take acting roles in schools and also entertain her family members with her exceptional comic acts. 

Adebimbola Aisha Ademoye, popularly known as Bimbo Ademoye was born on the 4th of February, 1991 in Surulere, Lagos to Mr. and Mrs. Adekunle Ademoye, although her mother was never in the picture. Bimbo completed her elementary education at St. Margaret’s Elementary School in Ikorodu and secondary education at Mayflower Senior School, Ikenne, Ogun State. After the completion of her secondary school education, Bimbo proceeded to get a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Covenant University, Ogun State. Bimbo started her career as a student by actively participating in school plays and regional theatre shows. She also worked as a presenter, marketer, receptionist, and salesperson at a hair extension store at different points before her breakthrough in the industry.

Bimbo got her breakthrough in 2014 when she landed her first major acting role in a short film titled “Where Talent Lies” after the popular director, Uduak Isong, discovered and gave her a golden chance. The film got nominated at the African International Film Festival and won the award for “The Best Film Pitch” that year, and its recognition helped the rising star become known in the industry. Her outstanding performance in the series attracted both industry insiders and spectators’ attention, catapulting her into the public eye. 

In 2015, Bimbo Ademoye had her first feature film role which was produced by her mentor and director, Uduak Isong, titled “It’s About Your Husband”. Bimbo  went on to attain  bigger achievements, appearing in numerous award-winning movies and even starting her own YouTube short film series. In 2018, Bimbo was predicted as one of the five actresses to become successful by Premium Times Nigeria, and this came true as she has gone on to win several awards and honours through the years. She has acted in various movies and TV shows, playing a variety of characters and showing her acting skills.  Among her best known movies are “Anikulapo,” “Desperate Housegirls,” “Husbands of Lagos,” “Looking for Baami,” and “Sugar Rush”. She was also featured in the movie “Gone” with the star actress Stella Damasus in 2018.

From when she began her acting career till date, she has featured in over 150 movies and has received four awards in total. Bimbo  has been recognised with both nominations and awards for a variety of honours, including Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Best Supporting Actress at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), and the City People Movie Awards. 

Bimbo is also a content creator known to create comedy skits and short films, with 27,000 subscribers on her YouTube TV Channel and over 2 million followers on her Instagram. She started her YouTube channel on the 14th of July, 2021, and has gotten over 16 million views over the years. 

She is known for making hilarious content that not only makes people laugh but also sends important messages to her followers. She uses her platform to motivate and uplift young people, particularly aspiring actors, by inspiring them to follow their passion and strive for perfection. She is also a model for many brands and a brand influencer to brands like Getfit, BettyBingo, and more.

She is also known for being approachable and down to earth, which endears her to both fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry. Bimbo has supported a number of philanthropic initiatives and is actively engaged in different charity events. 

With her outstanding performance, Bimbo Ademoye continues to make spectacular progress in the Nigerian entertainment sector. She has established herself as one of Nollywood’s brilliant actresses thanks to her talent, tenacity and love of acting. She continues to serve as an inspiration to many aspiring performers.
