China-Bound Auto Parts Dealer Excretes 95 Cocaine Wraps At Kano Airport — NDLEA

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 62-year-old Lagos-based auto parts dealer, Nwabueze Nicholas Izueke, after he was caught attempting to smuggle cocaine to China through the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.

Izueke was apprehended on Saturday, January 31, 2026, during passenger clearance for Ethiopian Airlines flight ET940 en route to China via Addis Ababa.

According to the NDLEA, a body scan conducted on the suspect returned positive for ingested illicit substances, prompting his immediate placement under excretion observation.

“While under observation, the suspect excreted 95 jumbo wraps of cocaine in seven separate excretions, with a total weight of 1.589 kilograms,” the agency said.

During interrogation, Izueke, who claimed to operate a clothing and auto spare parts business in Lagos, admitted to trafficking the drugs in a bid to raise funds to complete a country home in Iwollo, Enugu State.

Meanwhile, the NDLEA recorded multiple breakthroughs in coordinated operations across several states.

In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), operatives raided a makeshift warehouse in Kubwa, recovering 627.7 kilograms of skunk (cannabis).
