Wang Yun, a kindergarten teacher in China has been sentenced to death for poisoning 25 pupils, ages 3-6years, in an act of revenge against a colleague.
According to report gathered, it was unveiled that Wang had argued with another teacher at the Jiaozuo Kindergarten over how best to handle and control the pupils.
She was however, reported to have added sodium nitrite on the morning of March 27, 2019, into porridge being supplied by the school and intended for her colleague’s students.
The Jiaozuo Intermediate People’s Court in the central Chinese province of Henan described the convict as ‘despicable’ and ‘vicious.’
The court asserted that, the convict knew that the substance was harmful, but proceeded with her dangerous act ‘with no regard for the consequences.’
The US centers for Disease Control and Prevention unveiled the use of nitrite for curing meat, but can be toxic when ingested in a high amount; which can stop the human body from properly absorbing oxygen, and is a ‘carcinogen’ used in fertilizers, food preservation and also munitions and explosives.
Report says, the children began vomiting and fainting after eating their breakfast. And as a result of this, many children were hospitalized and one dead after been severely ill for months.
The court concluded that Wang’s motives were despicable after she refused to disclose her reasons forgetting involved in such evil act by poisoning the children.

In the court’s statement, it reads, her ‘criminal methods and circumstances were exceedingly bad, with especially severe circumstances, and she should be severely punished in accordance with the law.’
The court added that Wang and the manager of the kindergarten must compensate the children’s families.
Investigation further revealed that, it was not the first time Wang used sodium nitrite to poison someone, as it was unveiled that, she once laced her husband’s mug with the substance, sometime in 2017, causing him minor injuries.
