Christmas Morning Hit-and-Run Claims Life on Ogun Expressway.

ODUGBOLU, OGUN STATE – A festive Christmas morning turned tragic along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway following a fatal hit-and-run accident.

 

The incident, which occurred at the Odogbolu Junction around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, claimed the life of an unidentified male pedestrian.

 

Confirming the event, Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), stated that the driver responsible fled the scene before the arrival of emergency responders.

 

“There was a case of hit-and-run by an unidentified vehicle at Odogbolu Junction, inbound Ijebu-Ode,” Akinbiyi said.

 

In a later update today, 26th December, 2025, it was reported that the family of the deceased had come forward.

 

“The earlier reported hit-and-run at Odogbolu Junction has been evacuated by his family members for burial,” he added.

 

Authorities have yet to identify the vehicle or the driver involved, and an appeal for witnesses has not been officially announced.
