President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-appointment of Dr. John Emaimo as Rector, Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu State, with effect from Nov. 27.

The approval was expressed in a letter signed by Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, the Minister of State for Health, on behalf of President Buhari.

Mamora stated that he was found eligible for a second term with respect to his assessment. He also congratulated him and urged him to work with his team since his achievements in his first term was also a part of their effort.

He was further reminded of the huge responsibilities with regards to his office; asserting the government and the people’s expectation of him towards competency in service delivery. The advice was also given on the need to improve on his present achievement attained at the college and justify the confidence that was accorded him.

Mr Abdulaziz Abdullahi, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, said Emaimo’s re-appointment was due to his hard work. He commended him to continue his good work.

Emaimo appreciated the government on his re-appointment and pledged to render quality service to Nigerians by surpassing his previous records in improving the college.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the college was established in 1952 and inaugurated in 1955. It was then the only institution in Africa to provide training for dental technologists and therapists.

The Act establishing the college was passed by the Federal Government on Dec 5 to offer degrees and other advanced courses as opposed to its previous task of running two to four years courses.
