Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze has expressed confidence that striker Victor Osimhen will find the net when the Super Eagles take on Tunisia in their Africa Cup of Nations group stage match on Saturday.
Osimhen drew a blank in Nigeria’s opening 2-1 win over Tanzania, extending his run to just one goal in nine AFCON appearances across three editions.
Despite his recent tournament struggles, the Galatasaray forward arrives in Morocco in strong form, having netted 12 times for his club this season and eight for Nigeria in 2025.
“He didn’t score against Tanzania, but the goals will come,” Udeze told Footy-Africa. “It’s not a problem. He just needs to keep his cool—he’s a natural goal machine.”
Udeze acknowledged Osimhen’s frustration after the Tanzania match but predicted a sharp response against Tunisia.
Nigeria faces Tunisia in a top-of-the-table clash at Fez Stadium, with both sides having won their opening games. Victory would secure early qualification for the knockout rounds.
Udeze expects a tight encounter but remains hopeful Osimhen will lead the charge for the Super Eagles.
