A Ghanaian clergyman, Ebo Noah, has told his congregation to “relax and enjoy themselves,” following the failure of his prophecy that a catastrophic global flood would occur on December 25, 2025.
The self-styled prophet addressed followers after the predicted doomsday passed without incident, stating that the prophesied catastrophe had been “postponed.”
His reversal has ignited widespread criticism and mockery on social media platform X. Users questioned his credibility and motives, with many calling for legal consequences.
One user, @Akinwale_cfi, dismissed Noah as merely a “content creator.” Another, @isaacessien77, quipped, “What is he doing there? Isn’t he supposed to be in the ark by now?”
The backlash extended to concerns about the impact on religious faith. User @jiaggeEmmanuel commented, “The disrespect to Christianity. How will anyone believe the Bible and its teachings again,” while @ng_digitals questioned, “Ghana, this person is supposed to be in jail but just look at where he is.”
The incident has renewed debates about accountability and the influence of apocalyptic prophecies within some religious circles.
