Hilda Baci Makes History Again As Guinness Confirms Third World Record
Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially become a three-time Guinness World Record holder, after confirmation that her September 2025 culinary feat also earned her the title for the largest serving of rice overall.
Baci made the announcement on Tuesday via Instagram, updating her bio to read “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder,” and revealing that what was initially recognised as one record had, in fact, broken two global records simultaneously.

“Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026,” she wrote.
According to an official email from Guinness World Records, Baci’s record-breaking attempt at the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice automatically qualified as the largest serving of rice when benchmarked against existing record guidelines.
The confirmation, sent by the organisation’s Records Creative Team, congratulated Baci on achieving the additional milestone months after the initial announcement.
Reacting to the news, the chef described the moment as both shocking and emotional, noting that she discovered the development unexpectedly while checking her emails—five months after the original record confirmation.
“What I thought was one record turned out to be two. And now, officially, that makes three Guinness World Records in total,” she said.
Baci’s September 2025 feat saw her prepare 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of Nigerian-style jollof rice during a large-scale cookout in Lagos, making it the largest pot of jollof rice ever prepared globally.
The achievement followed her historic May 2023 record, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, becoming Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.
She credited her team for the success, describing their collaboration as central to the execution of the record-breaking feat, and expressed gratitude for the support she received throughout the journey.
Baci also attributed the milestone to faith, describing the achievement as a reminder that greater possibilities can still emerge even after major victories.
The latest recognition further cements her status as one of Nigeria’s most decorated chefs, spotlighting the scale, creativity, and global relevance of Nigerian cuisine on the world stage.
