International Women’s Day: HerStory International Hosts Insightful Digital Dialogue on Women’s Voices and Rights
HerStory International successfully hosted its first HerStory Digital Community Dialogue in commemoration of International Women’s Day, bringing together distinguished speakers, professionals, advocates, and members of the public for an engaging and thought-provoking conversation on women’s voices, rights, and leadership.
The event, which was held today, Sunday, 8th March 2026, started at 4:00 p.m., and lasted about two hours. During the event, the speakers shared their experiences and reflections around the theme “Her Story. Her Rights. Her Power.” The dialogue provided an important platform for meaningful engagement and reinforced the value of women speaking openly about their journeys, challenges, and achievements.
HerStory International expresses its sincere appreciation to the distinguished speakers who contributed their expertise and perspectives to the conversation: Mrs. Boma Alabi, OON, SAN; Dr. Oluwashola Okpodu; Barrister Peculiar Okunola; and Dr. Rosemary Otalor. Their contributions made the session insightful and inspiring, offering participants reflections on leadership, justice, resilience, and the importance of protecting and amplifying women’s voices.
The dialogue was moderated by Anthonia Nwokolo, Editor, HerStory International, who guided the discussion and facilitated engagement between the speakers and participants.
HerStory International is a platform dedicated to documenting and sharing women’s stories in autobiographical form. Through the platform, women are encouraged to preserve their experiences, own their narratives, and contribute to a growing body of stories that reflect the diverse realities, achievements, and resilience of women.
The Digital Community Dialogue was organised with the aim of bringing women together, creating a space for reflection and encouragement, and inspiring more women to tell their stories through the HerStory International platform. The programme also featured a question-and-answer session, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers and deepen the conversation.
The event concluded with closing remarks delivered by Moyosore Olaofe, Managing Editor, HerStory International, who thanked the speakers and participants for their contributions and encouraged more women to share their stories and take ownership of their narratives.
The organisation also extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants who joined the dialogue. Their presence, engagement, and thoughtful contributions made the event impactful and meaningful.
