The Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi, in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has ordered the suspension of church activities following security threats.
The decision followed reports of attacks on churches and the recovery of arms from criminal hideouts in the area.
CAN Coordinator, Rev. Kayode Osatuyi, said the directive was issued after consultations with traditional rulers, church leaders and the state leadership of CAN, urging compliance in the interest of safety.
Churches will resume activities when security conditions improve, he said.
