Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested one suspect and recovered a stolen motorcycle after responding to a distress call during a robbery in the Olorunda Aba area.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, on Saturday, the incident occurred on December 25, 2025, around 10:30 p.m. at Adanla Area, Eniosa. Two armed suspects on an unregistered motorcycle reportedly attacked Mutiu Adeyemo and Akinpelu Ojo, using machetes to dispossess them of a TVS motorcycle.
Upon sighting a police patrol team, the suspects attempted to escape with both motorcycles, leading to a chase. One suspect abandoned the stolen motorcycle and fled into a nearby bush, while the other, identified as Sunday Onah, fell during the pursuit and was apprehended.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested suspect confessed to the crime and admitted to previous similar offenses. The stolen motorcycle was recovered as an exhibit.
Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna commended the operatives for their professionalism and prompt response, while also acknowledging the support of the Inspector-General of Police. The command reiterated its commitment to public safety and urged residents to continue providing timely information to assist in crime prevention.
