President Tinubu Inaugurates APC Conflict Resolution Committee Ahead of 2027 Elections.

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday inaugurated a high-powered Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution, and Mobilization aimed at uniting the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The ceremony, held in Lagos, brought together key stakeholders to address internal divisions and reinforce cohesion within the ruling party.
The 15-member committee is chaired by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and includes governors, federal ministers, former governors, and senior party officials. Members include Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governorsā Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governorsā Forum, Hope Uzodimma; and Governors Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta).
Also appointed are Governors Uba Sani (Kaduna) and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Masari. Former APC Legal Adviser Dr. Muiz Banire will serve as the committee’s secretary.
During the inauguration, Governor Buni expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged the committeeās commitment to its mandate. He outlined plans for inclusive engagement and proactive conflict resolution.
āThe committee will engage in strategic engagements and consultations to develop an all-encompassing, productive, and result-oriented strategy that will stand the test of time,ā Buni stated. āWe shall implement a system that gives everyone, especially aggrieved parties, a sense of belonging and inclusion, with renewed hope.ā
He urged members to prioritize the partyās collective interest over personal sentiments.
President Tinubuās move follows his remarks last Friday at the APCās 15th National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, where he emphasized unity and tolerance as essential to the partyās stability and electoral success.
āWe must continue to be resolute that this democracy that we take in our hands must not fail,ā Tinubu had told party leaders. āWe say we are bigger. We are larger and taller. But it should now be in our hearts to be accommodating. Thatās the only way we can be resilient; we must be tolerant.ā
The committeeās formation is seen as a strategic effort to reconcile factions, resolve disputes, and strengthen the APCās internal framework as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.
