Again, Gunmen Invade Imo Village, Kidnaps Traditional Ruler During Meeting

Some unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped the traditional ruler of Umueezela-Ama Kingdom in Ehume Mbano Local Government Area of Imo state.

While recounting how the incident happened, sources and eye-witnesses confirmed to reporters that the Monarch was kidnapped at Nkwo Umuezeala Market during a meeting with his kinsmen on Tuesday.

According to a source, “He was kidnapped on Tuesday evening at the Umuezeala market square.  Some guys carrying guns ordered him to enter their vehicle.

“The Monarch obeyed and since then his whereabouts has been unknown.

Recall that similar incident happened few days ago, as the villages in Imo continues to live in panic over incessant kidnappings and insecurity.

On Sunday, a similar incident occurred where two Monarchs, Acho Ndukwe and Paul Ogbu  were kidnapped and their palace set ablaze.

Ndikwe was said to have been rescued 24 hours after his kidnap, the where about  his counterpart, Ogbu is yet to be confirmed.

Recall that the  traditional ruler of Mbutu ancient kingdom in the Aboh  Mbaise LGA, Damain Nwaigwe was also kidnapped last week.

This happened the same day his counterpart from Atta ancient kingdom in the Njaba LGA, Edwin Azike was kidnapped.

Over the past few years, Nigeria has been grasping with insecurity challenges in all regions of the country.

The South East has been one of the epicenters of killings and kidnappings, with several attacks on security operatives.

With several protest and agitations also going on in other parts of the country against the increasing rate of kidnappings, terrorism and banditry.

Some youths have took to street in the northern part of Nigeria to protest against the continuous killings and the region.

Appealing to the president to take immediate response in saving the region from being ravaged by terrorism and banditry.
