The Journal Nigeria January 17, 2025

Mohamed Garba

In a daring operation, the Nigerian Army’s Three Division and Operation Safe Haven have successfully rescued 18 kidnapped victims, including three septuagenarians, in Plateau State. The rescue mission was carried out along the borders of Taraba and Plateau States, according to Operation Safe Haven Information Officer, Major Samson Zhakom.

The rescued victims have been reunited with their families after undergoing profiling and documentation by relevant agencies. Additionally, troops apprehended several criminals, recovering ammunition and firearms during counter-terrorism operations.

In a related development, troops of Sector Five on Golden Peace Operations captured five bandits at a hideout in Tarangol, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The troops also intercepted bandits at Jannaret in Mangu Local Government Area, foiling their attempt to cause chaos.

The apprehended suspects will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution, while investigations are ongoing. This successful operation demonstrates the military’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens in the region.
