Directorate of Mobilization and Integration (DMI) has extended warm birthday greetings to the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, on his 84th birthday. The party celebrated the monarch’s lifetime of service, wisdom, and commitment to national development.

The LP highlighted the Obi’s dual legacy of traditional authority and national leadership, praising his reign as a symbol of traditional leadership in a modern republic. The party noted that since ascending the throne in 2002, the Obi has redefined the role of traditional leadership, bringing about a cultural and economic resurgence in Onitsha.

The LP commended the Obi’s efforts in championing education and cultural preservation, particularly through initiatives like the Chinua Achebe Foundation and the Ofala Festival. The party praised his role in reawakening Igbo identity, solidifying his position as a custodian of heritage and a torchbearer of peace.

The LP underscored the alignment between the Obi’s values and those of the party, emphasizing the importance of building a fairer, more integrated Nigeria. The party saluted the Obi’s legacy, wishing him long life, fresh wisdom, and a continued legacy that guides the nation toward a better future.

National Moment of Reflection
The LP described the Obi’s 84th birthday as not just a personal celebration but a national moment of reflection on the enduring value of principled leadership. Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe remains one of Nigeria’s most respected traditional rulers, known for blending ancient customs with modern governance.
