In its bid to reposition itself for greater heights, the Guild of Private Broadcast Managers has appointed Mr Pius Nsabe as its Acting Vice President (Southwest).

A statement by the Guild’s National Secretary, Dr Adrian Ajufo, while announcing the appointment, said it was in line with the policy direction set by the National President, Amb. Patrick Uzoyi-Peters (JP) in his 2025 presidential address in which he had stated his commitment to placing greater emphasis on internal restructuring, and had announced the subsequent lifting of the suspension on the Oyo State chapter of the Guild.

“The National Executive Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Pius Nsabe as acting Vice President, South-West of the Guild,” the statement said.

Nsabe, who took a bow from radio in 2024 for personal reasons, last worked on radio officially as Head of Station at Crest 91. 1 FM, Ibadan, after putting in over a decade as reporter, political presenter, editor, producer, news caster, etc.

Nsabe, who is currently the Managing Editor of a renowned online news outfit, The Journal Nigeria, based in Magodo, Lagos, has during the period of his stay away from radio, consulted for several broadcast outfits, particularly in news and programming as well as in personnel development.

Meanwhile, the Guild also announced the creation of the Lagos Chapter and the merger of Oyo and Ogun States as one chapter, while Ondo, Ekiti and Osun will operate temporarily as one chapter. This, according to the Guild, is to promote effective regional governance.

In the meantime, Mr Tony Onwuchekwa continues as Southwest Regional Secretary with Lagos serving as the regional headquarters.

The Guild which operates with the motto– Leadership, Excellence and Result– is designed for those serving and past, who have attained the level of heads of private TV, radio and digital broadcast platforms.
