A devastating electrical accident in Gombe State’s Tudun-Wadan Pantami community has left five people dead and thirteen others injured. The incident occurred on Saturday due to a high-voltage surge from a nearby transformer.
Gombe Police Command spokesperson DSP Buhari Abdullahi confirmed the tragedy in an official statement, noting that officers from the Low-cost Division swiftly responded to secure the scene and transport victims for medical care.
Three victims at Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, one at State Specialist Hospital, and one at Bolari Filin Kwallo Mortuary as 13 are receiving treatment across multiple healthcare facilities.
Commissioner of Police Bello Yahaya expressed heartfelt condolences to bereaved families while wishing survivors speedy recovery. The Command has launched a full investigation to determine the surge’s cause and implement preventive measures.
