The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced the successful restoration of electricity supply to Nigeria’s Northeast region following a temporary outage.
In a Sunday statement from Abuja, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, confirmed that power transmission resumed through the 330kV and 132kV Jos-Bauchi-Gombe lines as of 4:45 pm on June 19.
The brief disruption occurred while engineers connected the newly constructed Bauchi Substation, one of the region’s largest power facilities, to the national grid. This upgrade now benefits customers served by both Jos and Yola Electricity Distribution Companies across six states Bauchi, Gombe, Borno, Adamawa, and Taraba.
Mrs. Mbah highlighted the project’s benefits, noting it strengthens power reliability, creates alternative transmission routes and enhances emergency response capacity.
TCN expressed gratitude to affected customers for their patience during the essential infrastructure upgrade, which promises improved electricity services across the Northeast.
