The Pastor-in-Charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Jesus Pinnacle Parish, Pastor Kehinde Omolaja, has called on the government at all levels to urgently take decisive action to end the growing insecurity in Nigeria.
Pastor Omolaja made the appeal during an exclusive interview with The Journal Nigeria correspondent.
Speaking on the rising wave of violence and criminality across the country, Pastor Omolaja expressed deep concern over the daily loss of innocent lives, stressing that the deteriorating security situation has become a major source of fear and uncertainty for Nigerians both at home and abroad.
“Innocent lives are lost on a daily basis due to the growing insecurity in our country,” Pastor Omolaja lamented. “People abroad are scared to come to Nigeria because of the rampant cases of insecurity. Just look at the recent incident that happened in Benue State.”
Pastor Omolaja called on both the federal and state governments to prioritize the safety and protection of citizens.
According to him, while policy discussions and budget allocations are important, real change must come from immediate and effective actions that directly address the root causes of insecurity.
Pastor Omolaja also directed his appeal to fellow religious leaders, urging them to intensify prayers for the nation.
He emphasised the spiritual role that religious communities play in fostering peace and stability.
“Religious leaders need to keep praying,” he said. “Lives are lost on a daily basis. We must stand in the gap spiritually and ask God for divine intervention. Our prayers can go where politics and policies cannot.”
As insecurity continues to affect travel, business, and social life in many parts of the country, Pastor Omolaja advised Nigerians to remain vigilant and maintain regular communication with their families and loved ones.
