The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the June/July 2025 National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations, showing an overall improvement in Mathematics performance.
Announcing the results in Abuja on Thursday, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, said 92,875 candidates registered for the examinations across 1,892 centres nationwide. The figure marks a 37.08 per cent increase compared to 2024.
According to him, candidates sat for 16 Engineering Trades, seven Construction Trades, nine Miscellaneous Trades, four Business Trades, and 16 General Education subjects.
Out of the 89,621 candidates whose results were released, 61,104 candidates (68.18 per cent) obtained five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics, while 74,633 candidates (83.28 per cent) scored five credits and above with or without English and Mathematics.
“More candidates passed Mathematics while fewer candidates passed English Language this year when compared to last year’s results,” Mohammed said. He disclosed that 94.60 per cent of candidates passed Mathematics, while 93.10 per cent recorded pass grades in English Language.
On examination malpractice, he noted a decline, with 435 candidates involved in 516 cases, compared to 349 candidates in 524 cases in 2024.
The Registrar also announced that registration has commenced for the November/December 2025 NBC/NTC and Advanced NBC/NTC (ANBC/ANTC) examinations.
Mohammed stressed the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to national development.
“You will agree with me that in today’s 21st-century world, the need for comprehensive TVET is highly crucial,” he said.
NABTEB, established in 1993, conducts nationally recognized technical and business exams, replacing foreign certifications such as RSA, City & Guilds, and WAEC.
