Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for 2025, earning the prestigious honour for the third consecutive year.
The 24-year-old received the award on Wednesday at the 2025 CAF Awards ceremony held in Rabat, Morocco, beating Khadija Er-Rmichi of Morocco and Andile Dlamini of South Africa to the top prize and further solidifying her status as Africa’s leading goalkeeper.
Nnadozie’s outstanding year spanned both club and international football. At Paris FC, she helped the French side clinch the Coupe de France Féminine, delivering consistently commanding performances between the posts.
For the Super Falcons, she was instrumental in Nigeria’s historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumph, keeping four clean sheets and being named the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper.
After the WAFCON success, Nnadozie secured a move to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League, where she made an immediate impression—earning a Player of the Match honour on her debut. She has since received several nominations, including WSL Save of the Month and PFA Fans’ Player of the Month.
Nnadozie’s latest CAF accolade adds to her rapidly growing legacy, underscoring her rise as one of the continent’s and the world’s most exciting talents in women’s football.
