Precious Dede Welcomes Quadruplets After Years of Waiting
Former Super Falcons goalkeeper Precious Dede has welcomed quadruplets after years of waiting for children.
She announced the births on Sunday through her verified Instagram page. She described the moment as a powerful reminder that “delay is not denial.”
Dede confirmed she delivered two boys and two girls. She said one pregnancy carried four heartbeats and endless gratitude. Above all, she framed the milestone as a deeply personal victory.
The former national team goalkeeper earned over 90 caps for Nigeria. She guarded the posts for the Super Falcons across multiple major tournaments. Notably, she featured in four FIFA Women’s World Cups between 2003 and 2015.
Furthermore, she represented Nigeria at three Olympic Games. She also competed in four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. Significantly, she lifted the continental title twice during her career.
Dede retired from international football in 2016 after a distinguished run. However, her legacy in women’s football remains firmly intact. She built her domestic career with Delta Queens, Rivers Angels, and Bayelsa Queens. Subsequently, she also played professionally in Norway with Arna-Bjørnar.
Indeed, Dede’s announcement triggered widespread congratulations across Nigeria’s football community. Many fans described the news as symbolic and inspiring. While it is true that athletes often define themselves by trophies, Dede now celebrates a different triumph.
Her story blends perseverance with faith and resilience. Consequently, it resonates beyond sport and into everyday Nigerian life.
Above all, Precious Dede has entered a new season. This time, she stands not between goalposts, but at the heart of a growing family.
