Isabella Idibia, daughter of Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and actress Annie Idibia, has spoken publicly about how her parents’ separation affected her and her relationship with her father’s other children. The young Idibia acknowledged that the separation had been difficult but said the situation was gradually improving. She also revealed that she maintains close relationships with all her half-siblings, crediting her mother, Annie Idibia, with encouraging the children to remain connected.
She made the disclosures in an interview in Lagos on Thursday, September 3. When asked directly whether her parents’ separation had affected her, Isabella replied, “Obviously, yes. But things are getting better day by day.” Isabella did not provide further details about the separation or explain what had improved. Her remarks, however, indicated that she was still adjusting to the changes while experiencing some progress.
The conversation later turned to her relationship with the children 2Baba has with other women. Isabell said she shares a close bond with all her siblings despite the circumstances surrounding the wider family. She attributed the relationship partly to Annie, saying her mother actively encouraged her to visit her half-siblings and maintain contact with them. According to Isabella, the children also make a collective effort to preserve their relationships with one another. Her account suggested that the siblings have worked to remain connected despite being born to different mothers.
She further disclosed that she communicates with the mothers of 2Baba’s other children. Isabella added that Annie also maintains cordial communication with them. The revelation placed Annie Idibia’s role at the centre of the relationship among the children. According to her daughter, the actress did not discourage contact but instead promoted interaction within the family.
The interview took a different turn when Isabella was asked if she had any communication with Natasha Osawaru, who recently married 2Baba. Isabell declined to answer the question and did not offer any explanation for her decision. Her refusal to comment did not establish the nature of any relationship between them. It only showed that she was unwilling to discuss the matter publicly during the interview.
