Nana Akua Addo’s Marital Crisis Deepens as Lawyers Trade Accounts Over Viral Videos

Ghanaian actress Nana Akua Addo’s marital crisis has escalated after viral videos triggered domestic violence allegations, with lawyers on both sides giving conflicting accounts of the disputed events.

Ghanaian actress and fashion personality Nana Akua Addo has found herself at the centre of a fresh marital controversy after videos showing her with visible injuries and footage involving members of her family circulated widely on social media.

The videos, which emerged in early October 2026, prompted allegations of domestic violence against her husband, Harold Duodu Norman. However, the circumstances surrounding the footage remain contested, with lawyers representing both sides offering different accounts of what happened.

Nana Akua Addo has not publicly given a detailed account of the incident. Instead, her legal representatives have asked the media and members of the public to stop circulating the videos, particularly those involving her children, while confirming that the matter is now before the appropriate authorities.

Viral videos bring private dispute into public view

The controversy began after videos and photographs showing Nana Akua Addo receiving medical attention circulated online.

In some of the material, she appeared with a swollen lip, an injury beneath her eye and blood visible on her clothing. Other footage reportedly showed a confrontation involving members of the family, including one of the couple’s children.

The circulation of the material quickly generated allegations that Nana Akua Addo had been assaulted by her husband. Reports also emerged alleging that Norman had been taken into police custody.

However, the Ghana Police Service had not publicly confirmed the reported arrest in the available reports, making it necessary to distinguish between what has been reported online and what has been officially established.

Nana Akua Addo’s lawyers, Nkrabeah & Associates, subsequently issued a statement dated October 6, asking media organisations and the public not to publish or share the videos.

The lawyers said the footage had been circulated without their client’s knowledge or consent and described its dissemination as a violation of the privacy of Nana Akua Addo and her children, who are minors.

Nana Akua Addo’s lawyers say case is before authorities

According to the legal statement, the dispute is currently “sub judice and in the hands of the appropriate authorities”.

The lawyers also expressed appreciation for what they described as the timely intervention of the Ghana Police Service and said they were confident that the country’s legal system would properly address the domestic violence concerns involved in the matter.

The legal team specifically appealed to media houses not to reproduce footage involving the children.

It said the family was already dealing with significant trauma and that continued circulation of the material could further affect the wellbeing of those involved.

Rather than offering a detailed public explanation of the events, the lawyers said Nana Akua Addo would address the relevant issues at an appropriate time.

For now, they have asked the public to respect the family’s privacy while the authorities handle the case.

Husband’s lawyers dispute assault claims

Norman’s legal representatives have presented a different account of the incident.

In a statement issued on his behalf, the lawyers disputed the suggestion that he assaulted Nana Akua Addo and said the injury visible in the photographs and videos dated back to 2021 rather than being evidence of a recent attack.

According to their account, Norman returned from an event and was confronted by Nana Akua Addo over alleged infidelity. They claimed she attempted to stab him with a knife during the confrontation.

The lawyers said Norman used a dressing mirror with wooden cladding to shield himself. They alleged that the knife struck the mirror, causing it to break, and that a piece of the shattered mirror injured Nana Akua Addo’s lip.

They further claimed that Norman took her to hospital for treatment after the incident.

These claims are allegations from Norman’s legal team and have not been independently established by the authorities. The lawyers also said the circumstances surrounding the injury form part of criminal investigations and civil proceedings involving the couple.

A marriage that has faced difficulties before

The latest controversy has also revived earlier revelations by Nana Akua Addo about difficulties within her marriage.

In 2021, the actress spoke publicly about infidelity in the relationship, describing the experience as painful and saying it had left her “broken” and “hurt”.

She said the couple sought counselling and eventually decided to work through the difficulties rather than separate.

At the time, Nana Akua Addo explained that her decision was influenced partly by their children, while stressing that she was not advising others to make the same choice in similar circumstances.

She also said that she had taken time away from social media and worked on herself before discussing the experience publicly.

Those earlier comments have now resurfaced because the latest dispute again places the couple’s private relationship under public scrutiny.

Claims involving the children add another layer

The controversy has extended beyond the disagreement between the couple.

A separate video circulating online has been reported as showing Norman physically handling one of the children. The footage has generated strong reactions, although the circumstances surrounding the recording and the events leading up to it have not been independently established.

Nana Akua Addo’s lawyers have specifically asked media organisations not to publish or circulate such footage because the children involved are minors.

Norman’s lawyers have also made allegations concerning the treatment of members of the household, including the children, but those claims remain part of the disputed accounts surrounding the ongoing legal matter.

The presence of minors has therefore become one of the central reasons the actress’s legal team is urging restraint in the publication of the material.

The controversy now moves beyond social media

What began as a series of viral videos has developed into a matter involving lawyers, police investigations and court proceedings.

The two sides have offered sharply different explanations of the circumstances behind the injuries and the wider domestic dispute. Nana Akua Addo’s lawyers have focused on the privacy of their client and her children and confirmed that the authorities are handling the matter.

Norman’s lawyers, meanwhile, have denied the assault allegations and argued that the viral material does not present the full circumstances surrounding the injury.

Neither account should be treated as a final determination of what happened while the investigations and legal proceedings remain ongoing.

For Nana Akua Addo, the latest development marks another difficult chapter in a marriage whose troubles have previously entered the public domain. For now, however, her lawyers have made clear that she intends to provide further details only when she considers the time appropriate.

Until then, the competing accounts surrounding the viral footage remain allegations, with the relevant authorities expected to determine the facts as the case progresses.
