  8. I have reservations with some of the issues raised in the article. For instance, I disagree with the view that there was tensed moment when Chief Obasanjo retired officers involved in politics. There was never any cause for concern on this development when it occurred.

    The second issue was the so-called professionalism of the army over the ill-health and death of President Yar’adua. But for the partisanship of the army when Lt. General Danbazzau was at the helm, the matter over Vice President Goodluck’s succession would not have lasted longer than it did.

    There is need to be cautious when given credit to the military particularly the army. Their constitutional role is clear and they must at all times live by the injunction of the constitution. There is no use giving credit when none is necessary. We should call a spade a spade.
