The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC has appointed Mr. Vincent Ogu, as the new Abia State Commandant of the corps.
Mr. Vincent Ogu visited Governor Okezoe Ikpeazu, the Government House, Umuahia where he pledged to bring expertise to bear in the discharge of his duties in the State. He was received by Barrister Anthony Agbazuere, the Chief of Staff to the State Governor.
The Chief of Staff encouraged the State Commandant to cooperate with other security agencies in the State and to be prompt to security alerts so as to engender a peaceful and safe state in the country. He assured him of the
support of the State government in the discharge of his duties.

Anthony Agbazuere also advised the State Commandant that it is important to engage traditional rulers and other stakeholders on the urgent need of
preserving the sanctity of the state through the protection of private, and public properties in the state. He also charged him to nip in the bud the spate of vandalism of government infrastructures in the State.
