The Yobe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday staged a massive solidarity rally in Damaturu, drawing thousands of supporters from all 17 local government areas in what party leaders described as a launchpad for the 2027 general elections.
The rally, held at the 27 August Stadium, turned the state capital into a sea of the party’s colours, with supporters arriving in buses, cars and motorcycles from across the state. Decked in branded apparel and waving party flags and banners, the crowd created a festive yet determined atmosphere that underscored the APC’s grassroots reach.

Key stakeholders—including local government chairmen, state executives, and members of the State and National Assemblies—addressed the gathering. Their speeches emphasized party unity, loyalty to leadership, and continued support for the APC’s developmental agenda in Yobe and across Nigeria.
Speakers also highlighted projects executed by APC-led governments at both state and federal levels, urging members to use these achievements as campaign tools in voter mobilization.
Political observers say the rally signals early preparations by the APC to consolidate support ahead of the polls. By mobilizing well before the election cycle, analysts argue, the party aims to reinforce its dominance, deter defections, and weaken opposition efforts.
The event, according to party leaders, marks the first major step in a long-term strategy to sustain momentum and secure victory in 2027.
