Borno State Rescues One Million Street Children

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has announced a significant milestone in child welfare, rehabilitation of one million street children through state intervention programs. The governor revealed this achievement during a News Central Town Hall meeting in Maiduguri, brought together community leaders, security officials, and affected residents to address security challenges and development issues.

“Through our comprehensive education and social welfare programs, we’ve removed no fewer than one million children from the streets,” Governor Zulum stated. “These figures are verifiable and both the World Bank and United Nations can attest to our progress.”

The Town Hall meeting served as a crucial platform for open dialogue, allowing citizens to voice their concerns about the state’s security situation and share personal experiences since the insurgency began. Community leaders recounted their ongoing challenges while government officials outlined policy responses.

This participatory forum demonstrated the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, creating space for direct community engagement and collaborative problem-solving to address Borno’s most pressing issues. The initiative reflects Governor Zulum’s broader strategy of combining security solutions with human capital development to rebuild the conflict-affected state.
