Breaking: Favour Ofili Switches Allegiance to Turkey

Nigerian track sensation, Favour Ofili, has switched her allegiance to Turkey.

John Udofia, a popular sports presenter Ibadan made the post on his Facebook handle.

According tom, sources say Ofili has informed the AIU of her frustration with the Nigerian Athletics Federation, maintaining that her switch to Turkey was not for financial reasons.

In 2024, due to the negligence of both the Athletic Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Favour Ofili was excluded from the 100m Women’s event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Similarly, at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she was unable to compete because the AFN, NADC, and NOC failed to provide adequate testing provisions and release funds for athlete testing, which prevented 14 Nigerian athletes from participating.
