The Ogun State Magistrate’s Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, has granted popular singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, widely known as ‘Portable,’ bail set at N2 million. The court session, held on Thursday, saw the embattled artist facing a five-count charge, including conspiracy to commit felony, unlawful assault on government officials during official duties, and public display of dangerous weapons such as guns and cutlasses intended to incite terror.
Portable, famed for his hit track ‘Zaa-zoo-zeh,’ entered a plea of not guilty to all charges before Magistrate O. L. Oke. The court has scheduled the continuation of the trial for March 5, allowing the defense time to prepare and the prosecution to gather further evidence.This legal battle follows the earlier arraignment of nine individuals associated with Portable on February 6, 2025.
The accused, comprising Nurudeen Warris (21), Adetola Alashe (25), Samuel Adeleke (28), Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19), Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20), Gospel Kanu (20), Precious Ohiegebo (19), Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27), and Fatimo Muhammed (26), faced similar allegations. They were charged with assaulting and obstructing Ogun State town planners—Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero—hindering them from executing their lawful duties.
The courtroom was abuzz with media personnel and fans eager to catch a glimpse of the controversial artist. As Portable exited the courthouse, he maintained his innocence, expressing confidence in the judicial process.
