The Super Falcons of Nigeria have arrived in Abuja to a hero’s welcome following their triumphant campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they clinched a record-extending 10th title.

The team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday afternoon, greeted by an excited crowd of fans, officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and dignitaries.

To celebrate their historic achievement, the Super Falcons will embark on a trophy parade across major districts of the Federal Capital Territory. The parade route will take them through Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market.

Later in the day, the players and technical crew will be received by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where they are expected to be honoured for their outstanding performance.

Nigeria secured the WAFCON title with a thrilling 3-2 victory over hosts Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in Saturday night’s final, cementing their dominance in African women’s football.

The team’s return has sparked nationwide celebration, with fans praising their resilience, teamwork, and passion throughout the tournament.
