Clerics Must Apply Wisdom to Balance Spiritual, Personal Life – Pastor Taiwo Fagbuyi

The National Overseer of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), North America, Pastor Taiwo Fagbuyi, has emphasized the importance of wisdom in maintaining a healthy balance between the spiritual responsibilities of a Christian cleric and the demands of personal life.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with The Journal Nigeria correspondent, Pastor Fagbuyi explained that many challenges faced by ministers of the gospel stem from an inability to separate or balance their spiritual obligations with their roles in the home and personal affairs.

According to him, “It takes a lot of wisdom to balance spiritual life as a cleric and managing personal life. One must not be allowed to completely encroach on the other.”

Pastor Fagbuyi noted that being a Christian leader goes beyond the pulpit.

He said many clerics struggle with maintaining the proper boundaries between their calling as spiritual leaders and their responsibilities as fathers, husbands, friends, or individuals with personal needs and growth.

“Clerics need to realize that there is a place for being a father, a husband, a pastor, and even simply being yourself as a person. When these roles are not properly managed, there is a risk that one will begin to negatively affect the other,” he warned.

The spiritual leader called for more intentional efforts by church leaders to invest in personal development, emotional health, and family life while continuing to grow spiritually and serve their congregations.

He further advised upcoming ministers to seek mentorship and spiritual guidance from experienced leaders, stressing that wisdom—through prayer, learning, and reflection, is essential in leading a well-rounded and impactful life.
