Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has officially joined the Recording Academy, the body responsible for organizing the GRAMMY Awards, as a voting member.
The announcement was made in a video released by the Recording Academy on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, featuring Davido alongside other global stars including Offset and Stewart Copeland. As a voting member, Davido will participate in the nomination and final voting process for the 2026 GRAMMY Awards.
Reacting to the development, the three-time GRAMMY nominee described the opportunity as a “game-changer,” noting that it gives artists a stronger voice in shaping the industry and influencing global recognition for music.
