Delta Family Dispute: Father on the Run After Allegedly Stabbing 23-Year-Old Son to Death

A middle-aged man, identified simply as Iseleto, is currently on the run after allegedly stabbing his 23-year-old son, Miracle, to death during a domestic dispute in Osubi community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred on Sunday and has sparked shock and outrage among residents. According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect reportedly lured his son to a nearby bush, where he attacked him multiple times with a dagger before fleeing the scene. Miracle was left bleeding heavily but managed to stagger to the roadside, where passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital.

Sources said the young man later narrated how his father deceived and stabbed him before he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations revealed that the killing was linked to long-standing family tension. Miracle had allegedly rented a separate apartment for his father and stepmother in an attempt to ease persistent domestic conflict. The move reportedly angered his father and escalated the dispute.

Residents described the suspect as violent and frequently intoxicated, alleging a history of domestic abuse. One community member said the man often beat his wife whenever he was drunk and regularly caused unrest in the household.

Further reports claimed that after fleeing, the suspect allegedly admitted to the stabbing during a phone call with his stepdaughter and issued threats against his wife and stepdaughter for leaving the marital home.

Confirming the incident, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the suspect remains at large, adding that efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.

The killing adds to growing concerns over domestic violence and family-related crimes in Delta State, with residents calling for swift justice and stronger preventive measures.
