The Ebonyi State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has taken a significant step towards hosting a successful 2025 SWAN Week with the inauguration of a 13-member committee.
The committee, inaugurated at the Pa Ngele Oruta township stadium in Abakaliki, is tasked with overseeing the preparations for the upcoming event.
Comrade Ndubuisi Nwogha, the State Chairman of the Association, charged the committee to be diligent and dedicated in ensuring a successful week. He expressed gratitude to Governor Francis Nwifuru and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Prince Richard Idike, for their support to the new executive.
The committee, chaired by Mr. Israel Mbam, includes notable members such as Comrade Cosmas Egba (Secretary), Mrs. Bisong Maria, Clement Nnachi, and Mrs. Blessing Igidi.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Mbam, represented by Comrade Cosmas Egba, thanked the executive for the trust and confidence reposed in them and assured the Association that the committee will discharge their duties to the best of their abilities.
The inauguration of the committee is a testament to the commitment of the Ebonyi State government to promoting sports development in the state. With the 2025 SWAN Week just around the corner, the committee’s efforts will be crucial in ensuring a successful and memorable event.
