The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced a scheduled daily power outage across parts of Lagos State, set to last for 25 days.
In a notice shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, EKEDC stated that the power interruption will begin on Monday, July 28, and continue until Thursday, August 21, 2025, occurring daily between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The company explained that the outage is necessary to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to carry out critical maintenance work on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line.
“Customers within our network should expect intermittent power supply and load shedding during this period,” the statement read. “This maintenance is essential to improve the reliability and efficiency of the power grid in the long term.”
EKEDC urged affected residents to make necessary arrangements and expressed regret over the inconvenience the planned outage may cause.
