Former manager of Afrobeats star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, Kaka Igbokwe, has confirmed that the singer was briefly arrested at London’s Gatwick Airport following a disagreement with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru.
Igbokwe made the disclosure on Monday, December 1, 2025, during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze. The session also featured another former associate, Lori Tosan, who alleged that the lawmaker exerted excessive influence over the singer’s personal and professional affairs.
“Everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true,” Igbokwe said during the broadcast.
According to him, the incident occurred on October 2, 2025, when 2Baba and his wife arrived in London for a scheduled concert tour. Fans reportedly mobbed the singer and led him into a nearby shop, leaving Natasha behind.
Igbokwe, who said he was on the same flight and part of the London team, explained that when 2Baba realised his wife had been left unattended, he rushed back to meet her. However, Natasha was already upset and began scolding him, leading to a heated exchange that attracted the attention of airport security. Security officials intervened, handcuffed the singer and escorted him away.
A video of the incident later resurfaced on December 1, 2025, on the Instagram and X accounts of blogger Tosin Silverdam, showing police officers speaking with 2Baba outside a store before leading him away.
The airport incident reportedly caused the singer to miss his scheduled concert on October 2, 2025. At the time, 2Baba released a video denying that he was arrested, stating that he missed the show due to a medical emergency. Many fans dismissed the reports as rumours, though the story persisted on gossip platforms.
During the same Instagram Live session on Monday, 2Baba and his wife were caught in a fresh heated off-camera exchange. As Igbokwe and Tosan made allegations about Natasha’s conduct, including claims of violent outbursts and references to earlier domestic disputes, the singer abruptly joined the livestream and ordered them to stop discussing his private life.
Moments later, raised voices believed to be those of 2Baba and his wife were heard in the background before the session ended abruptly.
The latest developments have intensified public scrutiny of the couple’s relationship, which became public after 2Baba announced his separation from actress Annie Idibia in January 2025. He proposed to Osawaru in February 2025, and the pair tied the knot in July 2025.
Natasha Osawaru is a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and is currently expecting her first child with the singer.
While 2Baba had previously denied any physical altercation in the UK, Igbokwe’s confirmation has reignited online debate, with renewed attention on both the resurfaced airport footage and the recent Instagram Live confrontation.
As of press time, neither 2Baba nor Natasha Osawaru has issued a fresh official statement on the allegations.
