Some of the freed 344 students of Government Science Secondary School have vowed never to return to school until stringent security measures are put in place to curb a repeat of the national shock. The boys arrived at Katsina State Government House this morning. They were escorted by the 17 Brigade Commander, Brig-General WB Idris, and other top brass security operatives.
Abdulmajid Umar, a student also requested that Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Governor of Katsina State, should relocate the school to Kankara town.

Yusuf Suleiman, a SS1 student of the government secondary school said “We suffered in the hand of the bandits and for me, I will not return to the school again because it has no security and it is located at the outskirt of Kankara town”.
Brigadier General WB-Idris handed the abducted Kankara boys over to the Governor of Katsina State.
“We are here this morning (Friday) to formally hand over the 344 students of Government Science Secondary Kankara that were rescued from the bandits yesterday night (Thursday)”, he said.
In response, Governor Masari noted that the rescued students would be subjected to medical care before they will be handed over to their parents and guardians. Masari assured them of the commitment of his administration in securing lives and properties in the State. He also urged every citizen to contribute to secure and enabling environment for all.
As at the time of reporting, the 344 boys were gathered at the Government House waiting to meet President Buhari.
