The Lagos State Police Command has declared activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, wanted for allegedly planning to incite public disorder and obstruct major roads across the state.
Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, made this known to journalists on Monday at the Iyana-Oworo end of the Third Mainland Bridge.
Jimoh said the command was closing in on Sowore and others allegedly coordinating activities aimed at disrupting public peace.
“Sowore should surrender himself at the nearest police station or face arrest wherever he is found,” the Commissioner warned. “Anyone attempting to cause disturbance or block public roads will face the full weight of the law.”
According to him, intelligence reports indicated that Sowore and his associates were planning simultaneous demonstrations at key locations, including the Third Mainland Bridge, Lekki Tollgate, and Freedom Park.

Sowore explained that he was declared wanted due to the commissioner’s inability to execute the shoot on sight order issued by by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Posting on X, Sowore expressed readiness to meet with the CP to address the issue.
He wrote: “The Lagos Police Commissioner, Moshood Jimoh, has reportedly declared me ‘wanted’ for ‘disturbance of public peace’, allegedly as a result of his officers’ inability to execute a ‘shoot on sight’ order given by his illegal IGP, Kayode Egbetokun in Oworonsoki today.
“Despite my repeated attempts to contact Nigeria Police Force @PoliceNG Commissioner Jimoh, he has not taken my calls; nevertheless, I plan to meet with him soon to address his declaration. #RevolutionNow.”
