Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has dismissed claims of a rift with President Bola Tinubu.

Sanwo-Olu insisted that he enjoys a father-son relationship with President Tinubu.

Rumour mills were rift last week when Tinubu deliberately snubbed Sanwo-Olu at a function in Lagos State.

The incident occurred during the inauguration of the Lagos-Calabar Expressway Phase 1.

In a viral video, the president while entering the venue was seen shaking hands with some state governors and dignitaries and when he got to where Sanwo-Olu was, he bowed his head in a bid to greet Mr President but Tinubu snubbed him.

Tinubu moved to shake hands with the next person who is the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi before sitting down.

Since then, there has been reports of a rift between Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu.

However, Sanwo-Olu while addressing newsmen in Lagos, downplayed the claim.

He said: “There is nothing at all; he is my father, he is my leader, and we’re grateful that he has given us audience today.”

Meanwhile, The Journal Nigeria reports that Tinubu informed Sanwo-Olu that he was no longer angry with him.

The president disclosed this during his meeting with members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC.

The GAC members had visited the president in order to beg on Sanwo-Olu’s behalf.

They also pleaded for other people who may have offended Tinubu.

GAC chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, insisted that he was aware that Tinubu was not happy with some people in the state, especially the governor.
