The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed a major terrorist hideout in the Sambisa Forest following decisive airstrikes on Arra, one of the region’s most notorious enclaves.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the NAF Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai executed the strikes on the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke. He noted that the operation was guided by intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions that tracked terrorist movements after the October 17 ambush at Kashomri.
Ejodame explained that persistent ISR missions conducted by NAF platforms over Kashomri and adjoining areas in Sambisa detected suspicious activity and active terrorist structures at Arra, prompting the coordinated attack runs. According to him, NAF aircraft successfully engaged all designated targets, destroying identified locations, degrading terrorist capabilities and disrupting their command and logistics operations.
He stressed that the mission reflects NAF’s continued commitment to supporting ground troops, neutralising threats, defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and advancing lasting peace across all operational theatres.
