The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) in its New Year message has said it will enforce all the promises in its manifesto, including the pledge to intervene anywhere there is increment of fees in tertiary institutions in the country.
The Southwest Zonal Coordinator of the body, Comrade Kappo Samuel Olawale equally reiterated this following a recent announcement of an increase in tuition fees by the management of the Lagos State University, LASU. The increment was from N25, 000 to 67, 048 and will affect students from year one alone.
Olawale expressed gratitude for the privilege given to him and his executive, while also assuring victimized student of a shoulder they can lean on. He also stated that the association will promote programmes like the Inter-tertiary institution debate Competition.

He further stated that ‘we are poised to build on the foundation we have laid on advocacy, propagation of a healthy learning environment and qualitative representation of our constituents for a sturdy, viable and more prosperous administrative future’.
‘While we look to create new opportunities in our conventional goals and the conduction of Zonal election which will pave way for new blood in the system in 2021, we must also realize in maximum our manifesto promises of a new NANS through nimble propagation of student-friendly policies across all states of Southwest, and Nigeria as a whole in the quest to deliver a transcendental qualitative education to children of the poor and the rich in our confines. These, we shall achieve before we pass the baton’, has added.
